Vista Seekers, November Hikes
Monday, November 10th,
Time: 8:00am (leaving from Rumbling Bald) or 9:15 (leaving from the Lake parking lot)
Join us for a fall hike in the woods from Lake Powhatan to the NC Arboretum and back for a total of 5 miles. The colors are stunning and the air is perfect! Put Lake Powhatan Recreation Area into your GPS. We can meet and leave from Legends at Rumbling Bald at 8:00am. If you go a different way, we can meet at the Lake parking lot at 9:15. There is an admission fee for day use. If you have a National Park Pass, it will be honored. Also, if we have a group of 10 or more arriving at the same time, the entrance fee is $3.50 per person. The Lake parking lot is straight ahead from the entrance kiosk. Restrooms are there. The hike is flat – if you are concerned about balance, bring a walking stick. Bring water and a snack. Afterwards, we will go to Biscuithead for lunch. It has a large outside eating area and is pet-friendly.

Please save December 10th for a hike up Party Rock led by Carla and Jim Lemmons. Lunch will be at Legends following the hike. More details will be available on the updated December website.
Lake Lure Social Club’s Fantastic Friendsgiving
Wednesday, November 12th
Place: The Fitzgerald (69 Pacolet St in Tryon)
Time: 4:30pm

It is a bit different this year, rather than having everyone bring a dish to share, we are having a traditional Thanksgiving buffet.
The menu includes:
Appetizers
Turkey with all the trimmings
Cranberry Meatballs
Traditional side dishes
Dessert
The cost for the buffet is $45 per person. Since we have to pay for the event in advance, we ask that you pay for your dinner and RSVP by October 17th. We will not be able to give refunds if you are not able to attend.

The current board will be finished with their two years of service at the end of December. We are currently looking for replacements. It is a relatively easy job and we will be glad to help you be successful at your new position. We need a President, 2 Vice Presidents, a Secretary, and a Treasurer.
